I have been a bricklayer all my life, and as a Mason Contractor I have always been paid on a percent complete scale. How it worked was, I would figure out in the middle of each month what I thought our % complete would be by the end of that month, I would turn that into the General Contractor and they would put it with their own estimate and turn it into the owner or owners rep for review and payment. About 45-90 days later we would receive our payment, by then I would have put in 2 more requests for payment all on a percent complete calculation.
I was thinking about that today in the hot tub and realized at Send Out Cards I get paid weekly and monthly checks, on a percent of what I start, not complete, so this means I can work as hard as I want and never work myself out of a job.
It is a great feeling to be paid over and over, for the same work, started.
